Basic eBilling Editor Field Definitions

Invoice Information

The following fields can be edited in the Invoice Information section:

Field

Description

Invoice #

The invoice number from the firm's Time and Billing system.

When modified, the invoice number updates all associated eBillingHub records with the new invoice number, including profiled emails.

Invoice Date

The date the invoice was generated in the firm's Time and Billing system.

Start Date

The first day of the date range for which fees and expenses related to the invoice was recorded.

End Date

The last day of the date range for which fees and expenses related to the invoice was recorded.

Firm Matter #

The matter number on the invoice created by the law firm.

Client Matter #

The matter number on the invoice created by the client.

Law Firm ID

The law firm ID from the firm's Time and Billing system.

Client ID

The client ID from the Time and Billing system.

Invoice Description

The description of the invoice.

Fees

The following fields can be edited in the Fees section:

The transaction ID automatically populated by eBillingHub.

Date

The date that the fee activity was generated.

Hours

The amount of time related to the fee activity.

Rate

The rate amount charged per hour by the person who performed the activity.

Adjustments

The code that identifies the fee activity/service category.

Task

The code that identifies the task category.

Tkpr

The person who performed the activity that generated the fee.

Description

The description of the activity that generated the fee.

Expenses

The following fields can be edited in the Expenses section:

Field

Description

ID

The transaction ID automatically populated by eBillingHub.

Date

The date on which the expense was incurred.

Tkpr

The person who performed the activity related to the expense.

Type

  • Unit - The expense is calculated using the Quantity, Rate and Adjustments value.

  • Fixed- The expense is a set amount not based on other expense data.

Code

The code that identifies the expense category. For example, file fees, mileage, etc.

Quantity

The number of items related to the expense. For example, the number of documents filed, miles driven, etc.

Rate

The amount charged per expensed item.

Description

The description of the expense.

Matter Adjustments

The following fields can be edited in the Matter Adjustments section:

Field

Description

ID

The transaction ID automatically populated by eBillingHub.

Category

Select the category of the adjustment: Expenses or Fees.

Percent

The adjustment defined as a percentage of the total expenses or fees amount.

Amount

The fixed amount for the matter adjustment.

Tkpr

The person who performed the activity related to the adjustment.

Task Code

The code that identifies the task category.

Description

The description of the adjustment.

Timekeepers

The following fields can be edited in the Timekeepers section:

Description

Title

The timekeeper's professional title.

Initials

The timekeeper's initials or other identifying code used at your firm. This code can be any alphanumeric character (five-character maximum).

Rate

The timekeeper's rate.

Last Name

The timekeeper's last name.

First Name

The timekeeper's first name.
