Best Practices Overview
Best practices in your Time & Billing system are generally best
practices for eBillingHub. eBillingHub can also enhance your best practices
by providing tools to ensure that your electronic invoices are submitted
on time, rejected invoices addressed, and the proper collections action
is taken on unpaid invoices.
The following are recommended best practices for eBillingHub functions:
- Regularly review invoices in Received,
Hold, or Rejected status to ensure that the proper action is taken.
For more information, see the following topics:
- Invoice
Statuses
- Active
Invoices
- Update Invoice Status
- Correct
Rejected Invoices
- Resubmit
a Rejected Invoice
- Update Invoice Status for invoices that
have been manually uploaded to the ebilling vendor on the same day
that they were sent to the vendor. This will ensure that the correct
submission date is used for A/R tracking.
- Regularly review invoices in ebilled status
that remain in Active Invoices longer than the time a client normally
takes to pay an invoice. The collections reports can assist with this
task. For more information, see the eBillingHub
Reports Manual.
- Use Profile Emails to regularly review
incoming unprofiled emails to ensure that the correct staff is informed
of any required actions for an invoice.
- Use the Billing
Progress Report at least monthly to check for invoices in your
time and billing system that have not been submitted. For more information,
see the eBillingHub
Reports Manual.
