Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

I'm trying to work with eBillingHub and on many screens it reads "Initializing Components" and won't change. What do I do?

A:

If you keep getting "Initializing Components," it means that your workstation is not properly configured to run eBillingHub. Try the steps here: Configure your workstation using the installation wizard. If the problem persists, contact you systems administrator or customer support.

Q:

I was working fine before and then all of a sudden I started getting "Initializing Components" and cannot get past that screen. What happened?

A:

Somehow your workstation lost the eBillingHub configuration. It can be due to many reasons :

  1. A new version of .Net framework was installed in your PC

  2. Firewall changes

  3. Changes in the proxy server

  4. Changes in system policy

  5. Changes in user's security

In any event, try following the steps here: Configure your workstation using the installation wizard. If the problem persists, contact you systems administrator or customer support.

Q:

I ran the Configure Your Workstation and I'm still getting stuck on the "Initializing Components" screen. What should I do?

A:

There are issues with your firewall, proxy server, system policy or security level. Contact your systems administrator or customer support.

Q:

What is the process for starting the eBillingHub configuration and mappings?

A:

For more information, see Configure System.

Q:

I'm mapping Timekeeper Titles and they look different from the ones I used in the LEDES file. Also, they are different for each vendor. What is going on?

A:

The mapping you are doing here is mapping your time and billing system's titles to the eBillingHub abstraction of timekeeper titles. The eBillingHub will use this master table and map it accordingly to the client or eBilling Vendor's requirements.

Q:

What should I do if I'm mapping a Timekeeper Title and it's not supported by eBillingHub?

A:

Most of the time, the title you need will be supported by eBillingHub and will be successfully translated to the client's wishes. You can use the "Other" title to map titles that are not part of the standard titles set.

Q:

I'm mapping UTBMS Codes. Where is that information stored in my time and billing system?

A:

You will need to contact your firm system's administrator or your time and billing support.
