Editing Invoices

 

 

 

The eBilling Editor is a versatile tool for editing invoice data within the Billing Wizard and Quick Invoice validation process, enabling you to make corrections to an invoice before submitting it to an eBilling vendor. The eBilling Editor interface actually consists of two integrated editors: the basic Editor and the advanced Editor.

 

The eBilling Editors only change data within eBillingHub - they do not update the data in your firm's Time and Billing system! Consequently, edited invoice data will be out of sync between the Time and Billing system and eBillingHub.

 

Accessing the eBilling Editors

To access the basic eBilling Editor, click the Editor icon  for the desired invoice on the Validation Report screen in the Billing Wizard or Quick Invoice. To access the Advanced eBilling Editor, click the Advanced control button from the basic eBilling Editor screen:

 

Who Can Use the eBilling Editors?

 

Only users with the Administrator or Editor access role can access the eBilling Editors. The eBillingHub Administrator configures this role using the Manage Users screen. If you need to edit invoice information, ask your Administrator to add this role to your User Profile.

 

What Data Can You Edit?

 

The following table lists the editable data in the basic and advanced eBilling Editors.

 

Use this Editor

To...

Basic Editor

Edit invoice information:

·         Invoice Number, Invoice Date, Start Date, End Date

·         Firm Matter #, Client Matter #, Firm Id, Client Id

·         Invoice Description

Edit fee information:

·         Date, Hours, Rate

·         Activity, Task, Timekeeper, Fee Description

·         Add a new fee, delete an existing fee

Edit expense information:

·         Date, Type, Timekeeper, Expense Code

·         Quantity, Rate, Expense Description

·         Add a new expense, delete an existing expense

Edit matter adjustments information:

·         Matter adjustment description

·         Add or delete a fee or expense adjustment

Edit timekeeper information:

·         Timekeeper title

·         Timekeeper initials

Export fee, expense, matter adjustments and timekeeper information to Microsoft Excel.

Advanced Editor

Edit the following additional data:

·         Law firm name, tax Id and contact information

·         Currency used for fee and expense data

·         Detailed matter information

·         Detailed tax information

·         Timekeeper fields: Id, Initials, Title, Rate, Last Name, First Name

·         Fee fields: Date, Timekeeper, Type, Hours, Activity, Task, Fee Description

·         Expense fields: Date, Timekeeper, Code, Quantity, Rate, Expense Description

·         Add or delete a fee or expense adjustment

·         Extended Fields: Any of the extended fields configured for this client.

·         Adjustments fields: Id, Class, Type, Percent, Amount, Category, Adjustment Description
